This Privacy Policy describes ITU AbsorbTech’s policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of Your Personal Data when accessing and using the Site. By accessing and using the Site, You agree to the collection and use of Your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Interpretation and Definitions
Words with a capitalized initial letter are defined below. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions outlined on the Site, the following definitions apply regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural form.
- Account means a unique Account that You create to access the Site, enter Your Personal Data, Subscribe to SorbIts®, and manage Your Subscription.
- Cookies are small files residing on Your Devices containing details of browsing history while on the Site.
- Device means any computer, cellphone, digital tablet, or tool used to access the Site.
- Personal Data means any information that relates to You, or an individual that You identify and permit to access the Site and Your Account.
- Service Provider means any third-party company or individual employed by ITU AbsorbTech to facilitate, assist, and perform services related to the Site, Your Personal Data, Your Account and Subscription including, but not limited to, hosting, marketing, SorbIts® delivery, billing, communications, and security.
- Site refers to the SorbIts.com website by ITU AbsorbTech.
- SorbIts® is a product line of launderable, reusable absorbents owned by ITU AbsorbTech which are rented for acceptable industrial applications involving non-hazardous fluids on factory floors (see Terms and Conditions for acceptable and prohibited applications).
- Subscriber means the individual, company, or other legal entity (acting on behalf of such individual) accessing the Site and Account for a SorbIts® Subscription.
- Subscription is the arrangement through the Site by which ITU AbsorbTech offers a variety of SorbIts® that Subscribers rent (Subscription, Subscribe) on a recurring frequency.
- Subscription Provider is ITU AbsorbTech, Inc. (ITU AbsorbTech) which owns and operates the SorbIts.com Site through which SorbIts® is offered on a Subscription basis to manufacturing companies.
- Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Site or from the Site infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Personal Data
While using the Site, You may be asked to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to verify credentials or contact You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to Your:
- Email address
- User name
- User password
- First name and last name
- Company name
- Company phone (cell) number
- Company Address, City, State, ZIP code
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Site, and may include information such as Your Device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, information sent from the browser, operating system, the pages of the Site that were visited, the time and date of the visit, the time spent on those pages, unique Device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
Tracking Technologies and Cookies Policy

Use of Your Personal Data
ITU AbsorbTech may use Your Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Site and to monitor its usage.
- To manage Your registration on the Site and to manage Your Subscription and Your Account. Your Personal Data provides access to different functionalities of the Site that are available to registered users.
- For the performance of Your SorbIts® Subscription.
- To contact You by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application’s push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the SorbIts® Subscription including security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.
- To provide news, special offers, and general information about other goods, services and events that are similar to those to which You already Subscribed, or that You enquired about. You may opt out of these automated messages.
- To address and manage requests pertaining to Your Subscription.
- For other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, and to evaluate and improve the Site, Subscriptions, products, services, marketing and user experiences.
- To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of ITU AbsorbTech’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which case Your Personal Data held by ITU AbsorbTech is among the assets transferred.
CAN-SPAM Act Compliance
In accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act, ITU AbsorbTech is committed to ensuring that email communications are clear and not misleading. ITU AbsorbTech will:
- Not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.
- Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.
- Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.
- Provide clear and easy-to-find instructions on how to unsubscribe from receiving future emails.
- Honor opt-out requests promptly.
To unsubscribe and be removed, at any time, from ITU AbsorbTech emails and mailing lists follow the instructions provided at the bottom of an email.
Retention of Your Personal Data
ITU AbsorbTech will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, and to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations and applicable laws, resolve disputes, and enforce legal agreements and policies.
ITU AbsorbTech will retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of the Site, or when legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your Personal Data is processed at ITU AbsorbTech’s operating offices and in other places where Service Providers are located. ITU AbsorbTech will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your Personal Data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and that no transfer of Your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of Your Personal Data.
Deleting Your Personal Data
You may update, amend, or delete Your Personal Data at any time by signing into Your Account and visiting the Account settings section that allows management of Your Personal Data. You may also contact ITU AbsorbTech to request access to, correct, or delete any of Your Personal Data provided to ITU AbsorbTech.
Please note that ITU AbsorbTech may need to retain certain information when there is a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Business Transactions
If ITU AbsorbTech engages in a merger or asset sale Your Personal Data may be transferred. ITU AbsorbTech will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
